Antique Silver Plate Large Solid Soup Ladle No Monogram Majestic by International Silver Rogers & Hamilton PAT. 1893
Description: Offered here is a beautiful silver plate soup ladle. This is the solid 10 1/2" soup ladle in the International Silver, silver plate pattern known as Majestic 1893 Rogers. The ladle consists of a deep oval bowl attached to curved handle, which ends in a squared tip. There is a beautiful raised scroll design all along the edge of the handle. The bowl has no decoration. This pattern appears to have been patented by International Silver in 1893 and hence the name of the design pattern. It is not clear to us when the pattern was discontinued. However, we believe the piece to be from the first quarter of the 20th century or possibly older. The piece is not monogrammed and is in very good condition. Nice piece of antique silver plate. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: Measures 110 1/2" long and the bowl measures 3 3/4" by 3".
Maker: International Silver
Mark: Stamped Rogers & Hamilton PAT. 1893 1881on the back of the handle.
Condition: Spoon is in very good condition and shows minimal evidence of wear. It has scratches throughout and is lightly tarnished. There are no breaks, cracks, or repairs. There is a spot of the back of the handle which appears to be a ding on the surface, The bottom of the bowl also has some wear, but it is not as evident as the photo suggest. It could probably benefit from a good polishing to bring its total beauty. Please see photo for additional condition information.
