11 July 1950 Egypt One Pound Banknote King Farouk P# 24a Signed Leith-Ross VF 30
Description: A beautiful very fine banknote from Egypt. This is the July 11, 1950 one pound. The banknote is blue brown, lilac and green on the front. It has the image of King Farouk the first in a circular frame to the right and a lilac colored circle to the left of the front. The note is written in Arabic on the front with the serial number being in both Arabic and English. The back of the note is blue in color and depicts the image of the temple of Isis on the island of Philae in the Nile. The back has a white circle to the left of the front where the water mark is located. The back is written in English and shows the name of the National Bank of Egypt and the denomination both in numerals and spelled out. The note has a watermark showing the head of the Sphinx. This particular note has the serial number 614700 and is series GH/8. The note was issued by the National Bank of Egypt and is signed by F. W. Leith-Ross, who was the governor of the National Bank of Egypt at the time. Please carefully review the scan provided as it is part and parcel of our description.
