1915 Color Photos Book The Shasta Route Scenic Guide Book San Francisco to Portland Southern Pacific Lines

Description: A beautiful book for 1915 issued by the Southern Pacific Lines. The book has a series of colored photos documenting highlights of scenes to be seen by taking the train from San Francisco, California to Portland, Oregon. This is referred to in the book as the Road of a Thousand Wonders. The book shows photos through the Pacific Coast. This is the original book issued in 1915 and not a reproduction. It is full of colored prints mounted on brown card stock. It is held together with a rope and has three pages of text explaining the book and the views illustrated with the last page a map showing the Southern Pacific Lines. The book consists of 48 pages and contains 22 colored photos, one of them is folded and opens up as a panoramic photo (see he 5th photo). This is a soft bound book ~11 3/4" by ~9 1/8." Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: Book measures ~11 3/4" by ~9 1/8" and weighs about 11 ounces.

Binding: Soft cover.

Condition: The book is in very good condition with mostly clean pages. The pages have no tears or dog ears. There is no writing in any of the pages. The front and back covers are clean and show minimum wear and minor soiling. There is a couple of minor edge tears along the top edge of the back cover and the map page. The rope holding the book is untied but is still intact. The spine is intact and the binding has no breaks. Be that as it may, the book is in great condition for being around for over 100 years.
