4 Old Painted Cast Iron Miniature Dogs Paperweights or Toys with One Advertising
Description: An interesting lot of four old painted cast iron miniature dogs. The lot consists of what we believe are from eft to right in the first photo a Jack Russel Terrier, a Scottish Terrier, a Boston Terrier, and a Standard Poodle. The four dogs are all made of cast iron and are at various states of preservation. They all have paint losses some more than the others ranging from a loss of over 50% to less than 5%. We are not certain of their age or who made them but we suspect that at least a couple could be made by Hubley especially the three on the left. The Poodle is an advertising dog with the words “OAKWOOD INN” written on it in gold lettering. These were either toys or paperweights. Only one of the dogs is standing on all four and the others are sitting on their behind. All dogs have losses to the paint to where you can see the bare metal, especially the Boston Terrier. All show very mice detail mostly in the casting but also in the coloring. We are selling this lot together as found at a fraction of their value. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A fun lot of old cast iron miniature toys or paperweights. Hours of fun working with them or on them and making them worthy of a spot in your collection.
Condition: The miniature paperweights/toys are in good condition (for details of size and weight for each scroll down in the description). They are all intact with no breaks or repairs. They all have losses to the paint ranging from over 50% (for the Boston Terrier) to less than 5% loss of paint or even less (for the Standard Poodle). All dogs have spots of losses to the paint where you can see the bare metal. Again, all pieces have lost some of their original paint in the form of chips to the surface. Because of their state, we are selling the four dogs together, as found, at a fraction of their value. Please see photos for additional condition information.
