Antique Sterling Silver Cigarette Case Maker's Mark CD London England

Description:  Antique heavy gauge sterling silver cigarette case with machine turned exterior decorated with a band of floral design along the edges. The box is slightly curved and has a push button to open it. The inside of the box has a gold wash and is marked with the Leopard head (London Assay) the Lion Passant (Sterling), capital O in an upside shield (1909-1910) and the maker's mark CD. The inside also has an elastic band to hold the cigarettes in place. The box has a low and very slick looking profile. It could probably be used as a card case if you would like. It is monogrammed BhA on the front. Sure to get a lot of comments. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Size: ~2 1/2" by ~3 1/4" by ~3/8" high and weighs 3.3 ounces or about 3 Troy ounces

Marks: Leopard Head, Lion Passant, "O" in upside shield, and the letters CD.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A beautiful antique which would make a great addition to any collection.

Condition: The cigarette case is in very good condition with no major problems. It has no breaks, repairs or dings that we could find. It does have soiling and could probably use a good cleaning. The inside gold wash is all there, but the elastic band has some damage. The hinge rod is protruding on the side a bit.  Be that as it may this is a great antique which very seldom comes by in such a good shape. Please see photos for additional condition information.
