Beautiful Vintage Possibly Mixed Media Colorful Chicken Figurine Wood Base

Description: A colorful, beautiful, and well-done figurine of a brown chicken standing on a wooden base with its head tilted slightly to the side. Although we can see that the base of the piece is made of wood, we are unable to determine what the rest of the piece is made of. It could be wood that is heavily painted with a polymer type paint or it could be a light composite (would it make sense to have a composite figurine sitting on a wooden base?). Be that as it may, this is a very nice piece in excellent condition and very well done. It shows beautiful details of the feathers on the wings, the tail, the comb and wattles. You can see realistic coloration and the great proportions of this miniature figurine and the details which give the piece a great look. A great piece to add to your collection. Date: Unknown but most likely mid to late 1900s (Mid to late 20th century).

Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: It is ~5 1/4" high, with the base being ~3 1/4" by ~2 1/2". The piece weighs about 5 ounces.

Maker: Unknown.

Marks: Has pencil markings on the bottom showing the numbers "2119/14" or could be "hI/5112". Please see last three photos for additional details.

Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, crazing to the surface, or repairs. It has some soiling, a few minor scratches and a couple of minor dings but all these are truly not an issue and do not distract from the beauty or quality of the piece.
