June 10, 1944 Bank of the Belgian Congo Ten Francs Banknote Pick 14D PMG VF 30
Description: A nice very fine banknote from the Belgian Congo. This is the 10 June 1944 ten Francs currency note issued by the Bank of the Belgian Congo. The banknote is gray blue on pink underprint. The front depicts the Watusi Dancers with trees and a hut in the background to the left of center. The front also has an over print in black stating "QUATRIEME EMISSION-1944" the date, the serial number and two signatures. It also shows the denomination in number and in French. The back is written in Flemish and depicts huts, trees and soldiers in gray blue with a pink sky. The back also has an over print stamp in black says "VIERDE UITGIFTE-1944" and shows two signatures. The note has a watermark showing the head of an Okapi and is dated 10.06.44. This particular note has the serial number G522267, which is displayed twice in black on the front. Condition: The banknote is graded Very Fine 30 by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The note shows light soiling, some minor and small stains, Folds and creases, general wrinkling, and minor roughness along the edges. The corners show some rounding. The note has no apparent tears or splits. It has no graffiti and no pinholes. It has some minor rust spots, which are noted on the holder. The note has all its details well preserved.
