The yellowish cow is standing on all four on a green colored base and shows details of his ears, eyes, mouth, tail, udder, and its body in general. It is stamped on the bottom with the name "Mary Spillmire Shooner" and it was made at the Shooner Pottery works in Ohio. Of course, this is a reproduction piece made by the Shooners of a 1700s child toy of the time. It shows crazing and aging signs. It is great looking and very well made. A nice piece which would make a great addition to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a very nice redware figurine toy that is very well made. A definite beauty, which deserves a prominent spot in any redware collection.

Condition: The cow is in very good condition with no unintentional chips, cracks, repairs or hairlines. There is one flake to the glaze near the cow's udder, which we believe happened recently. Other than that, the figurine has intentional general crazing to the glaze and some separation on the green between the legs of the cow and the legs themselves (see that last two photos). All of these can be seen in the photo. Of course, all of these are intentional to give the toy the required look of the reproduced piece from 1700 or 1800s toy. Please see the photos for additional condition information and to appreciate its beauty.
