The stallions, which are of a nice size, are glazed with a dark background (Black) color and have beautiful turquoise green highlights for the horse's mane and back. The cast pieces are similar and are hollow. This is a beautiful, well made pair of decorative art pottery.  and really beautiful . Please view photos carefully as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date:  Uncertain but probably from the late 1900's.

Origin: The pieces were purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: The base measures ~3" by ~4 3/8" and they are about 9" high. The pair together weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds.

Maker:  Uncertain but possibly BLUE MOUNTAIN POTTERY in Collingwood Ontario Canada.

Marks: Unmarked.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece:  A nice pair of decorative art pottery figurines.

Condition:  The pieces are in excellent condition with no cracks, repairs, or hairlines. Both pieces show signs of crazing to the glaze, which are difficult to see (we used a X10 loop to see them) but they are there. These are really fine pieces of pottery and not clunky like the primitive redware art potter of Southeastern Pennsylvania we normally sell. Both pieces are very nice and would look great in your home. Please view photos to appreciate the beauty and condition of these beautiful ornaments.
