Victorian Easel Style Rectangular Brass Frame Foliate Decoration & Glass Cover
Description: A very nice Victorian rectangular brass picture frame. The frame has a glass cover and the rectangular frame has balls all around it. The edge of the frame has foliate decoration all around. The frame contains a cabinet card photo of a period woman which is backed by cardboard and held in place with short swiveling arms. The easel style frame's back has a leg with two feet at the bottom to allow the frame to stand on a flat surface. The backing can be opened to reveal the inside and the backing is held in place with three short arms that swivel. One of the arms is loose and does not stay in place as it should. Be that as it may, this is a nice Victorian frame to add to your collection or to use to frame the photo of a loved one. Date: Unknown, but most likely late 1800s or early 1900s and hence the Victorian look.
Origin: Was purchased at an estate sale in Southeast Pennsylvania
Size: The Frame measures ~10 1/2" by ~7 1/4" with the glass covered opening being ~5 1/2" by ~3 1/2". The piece weighs over one pound and 10 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice classic looking frame worthy of a spot in your collection or to frame the photo of a loved one.
Condition: The piece is in very good used condition. The frame has no breaks or repairs. It is a bit soiled and could use a good cleaning to bring out its full beauty. The support foot in the back works the way they should. One of the swivel arms which holds the backing in place is loose and does not stay in place as it should (We believe this can be remedied by someone who is handy). The backing cardboard is contemporary and is not original to the piece. This is the way we got the frame and we are selling it as found.
