1293/yr10 Egypt Silver Coin One Qirsh/Piastre Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II Unc
Description: A great looking and rather scarce toned uncirculated small silver coin from Egypt. This is a one qirsh coin from the reign of Abdul Hamid II the Ottoman Sultan. The silver coin shows the sultan's tughra, roses to the right and above the toughra, and the denomination below it with seven stars above it and a wreath made of roses with a central crossed quivers on the bottom of the obverse. There is also the letter W on the bottom of the obverse. The reverse says Duribah Fi Misr (struck in Egypt) with the number 10 for the 10th year of Abdul Hamid II's reign over the letter "Beh" on top. There is also Abdul Hamid accession year of 1293 AH below it with entire design being within a wreath on the reverse and having three stars in triangular formation on top. It is KM 292 measuring approximately 16 mm in diameter and weighing about 1.4 grams of 0.833 Silver. The coin has a plain border and a reeded edge. This is a rare coin in such nice condition being of such low denomination, which was heavily circulated and abused or melted for the value of the silver in it. Mint: Egypt (actually the coin is engraved by Emil Weigand in Berlin Germany).
Size and weight: This is a one Qirsh and is ~16 mm in diameter and weighs ~1.4 grams.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a nicely toned uncirculated with all the details being very well preserved. The coin has great eye appeal. The coin has some minor scratches and minor bag marks, which can be seen in the photos. The coin has no observable wear to the details consistent with its uncirculated state. The coin has excellent eye appeal and is beautiful. A great example of this rather scarce coin to add to your collection. Please see photo for condition information.
