Description: Beautiful silver coin showing no date from Venice Italy. This is a Grosso from the times of Doge Giovanni Dandolo in the period of 1280-1289. The coin shows the Doge and St. Mark standing next to each other and holding staff with the letters DVX along the top of the staff and the legend "IO DANDVL / S M VENETI" surrounding the image on the obverse. The reverse shows Christ enthroned facing front holding the book of gospels. The reverse has the legend "IC | XC" at either side of halo. The coin is undated but was issued during the period 1280-1289. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. The coin is graded NGC as (About Uncirculated) AU 55 and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. It is beautiful with great eye appeal. It is Biaggi 2789 and Gamberini 49, weighs ~2.02 gm and measures ~20 mm. The coin is beautiful and in great state of preservation. Size and weight: This is a one Grosso that is ~20 mm in diameter and weighs ~2.02 grams of 0.965 Silver.

Condition: The coin is graded by NGC as About Uncirculated AU 55 and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. It has minimum wear and is nicely toned with great eye appeal. The coin still retains most of its details and shows minor surface marks such as scratches or bag marks. The coin is problem free and has great eye appeal.
