The round base for the piece has steps rising to a neck supporting the pot. The piece has a mark in the inside of the base in the center. The mark is known to be Dutch but of an unknown maker. The pot has a nice warm gray age patina and would look great in any collection of old pewter. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date:  Unknown, but most likely from sometime in the 1800s (19th Century).

The spoon has the Williamsburg Restoration mark consisting the number 4 flanked by the letters C and Wand having XX under it and surrounded by the words WILLIAMSBURG RESTORATION all within an oval shape. There is also the word STIEFF stamped below it. There is also the number 808 in back ink on the base, which is most likely the previous owners' number within their collection.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece:  This is a great looking old piece of pewter which would display nicely in your collection.

Condition:  This mustard pot is in very good condition and having a nice warm gray age patina. The pot has small scratches, minor dings, and overall soiling. The antique pot is marked with a Dutch mark, while the spoon is a modern Stieff (Dutch) spoon having the mark of Williamsburg Restoration.  The spoon is also darkened with a nice age gray patina with the bowl being a bit distorted but showing no breaks or repairs. The piece is solid, intact and looks great. The spoon also has a few scratches, some minor dings here and there especially along the edge of the bowl, and is lightly soiled. The piece is soiled and would probably benefit from a good cleaning, but we leave that to the discretion of the new owner. All these issues can be seen in the photos. Be that as it may, this is a beautiful piece of very nice form, which would look great in your collection of old pewter. Please see photos to appreciate the beauty of this piece and for additional condition information.
