Beautiful and Decorative Bronze? Figurine of Gansu Horse Stepping on Flying Swallow

Description: A nice looking metal, which we believe is bronze galloping horse stepping on a bird. This is a reproduction of the famous Gansu Horse unearthed in China in 1969. The horse has a nice dark patina and shows signs of verdigris throughout. The horse has three of its four legs up in the air and is well balanced on the fourth leg which has a bird under it serving as base. Just a great looking piece representing one of China's most famous art [pieces from the second century AD. Date: Uncertain but most likely mid to late 1900's.

Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: The figurine pieces measure ~7" long and ~5 3/8" high. The figurine weighs over one pound and 10 ounces.

Maker: Unknown.

Marks: Unmarked.

Condition: The figurine is in very good condition. It is antiques and shows nice green verdigris throughout. The piece has a nice antiques surface and is great looking. It has no breaks and no repairs but has minor scratches throughout the body. In addition, the end of the tail or its tip has been filed or heavily rubbed, in a small spot, and exposes the original metal without the antiqued surface. Other than that the piece is soiled and dusty and would benefit from a good cleaning. A nice decorative item of a good addition to your collection.
