Beautiful Pair of Vintage 8 1/2" Tall Heavy Brass Candlestick Holders Marked X
Date: Uncertain but most likely last quarter of the 1900's could be a bit earlier.
Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: Both pieces measure ~8 1/2"" high with the base measuring ~4 3/4" in diameter. The cup where the candle would fit is ~13/16" in diameter on the inside and ~1 3/8" deep. Both pieces together weigh about 3 pounds 13 ounces.
Marks: The only mark we could find is an X on the inside (see last photo).
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice vintage pair of candlestick holders having a beautiful shapely and tall design with a great look. A pair to use around your home or worthy of a spot in any collection.
Condition: The candlestick holders are in excellent lightly used condition. They have no breaks, repairs, or defects. They do have a few minor surface scratches and some minor soiling, which we believe can be easily cleaned. The candle holding cups have some minor waxy residue from being used. One of the two pieces has a felt like material covering the base, while the other lost the cover and shows the mark "X". The felt like material appears to be taped to the candle stick with small pieces of scotch tape, which we decided not to remove. Other than that, the pieces are in exceptionally good condition, great looking and beautiful. Please see photos for additional condition information.
