Two Antique Footed Turned Wood Pieces Rosewood Wine Flute & Walnut Small Goblet
Description: A pair of beautiful antique lathe turned wood wine goblets, The first, to the left, is a rosewood footed wine flute implement and the second, to the right, is a footed walnut footed wine goblet. Both pieces are lathe turned, stained, and varnished on the exterior. The flute is ~3 5/8" high and ~1 3/4" in diameter at the base, while the goblet is ~2 1/2" high and ~1 1/2" in diameter at the base. Both pieces are in relatively good condition with no losses. The flute has a crack in the base. Both pieces have scratches, a few minor nicks to the edges (base and top rim), some wear to the surface finish, and general soiling. Both pieces are unmarked and have a rather primitive look especially the goblet. Two antique wood treenware primitive turnings worthy of a spot in any collection. The pieces are undated and were most likely made in late 1800s to early 1900s. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Unknown, but most likely made in late 1800s (late 19th century) to early 1900s (early 20th century).
Origin: Both pieces were purchased at an estate auction in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, USA.
Size: The flute measures~3 5/8" high and ~1 3/4" in diameter at the base, while the goblet is ~2 1/2" high and ~1 1/2" in diameter at the base. Both pieces together weigh about 2.5 ounces.
