1793 France 250 Livres Banknote Second Year of The Republic Pick A75 XF to AU

  • $ 187.77

Description: A beautiful extremely fine to about uncirculated banknote from France. This the Republic of France issue of the second year or 1793 two hundred fifty Iivres. This large size note is printed in black ink on off-white paper. It shows the denomination is writing in the center and has one signature and a raised seal in the bottom center. The back of the note is blank. The denomination is also indicated in the top right corner and bottom left corner. The note indicates that the nation will compensate for the value of the note, that the note was issued in the second year of the republic, and that the law punishes counterfeiters with death. A great note in excellent condition. This particular note is series 2992 and is number 186. The banknote has a watermark consisting of a scroll on the onside of the frame along the sides and three small round dots forming a triangle in the center. A great rare banknote to add to your collection. Please carefully review the scans provided as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1793.

Printer: Unknown.

Size: The banknote measures ~7 3/4" by ~5 1/8".

Pick Number: Pick No. A75.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice extremely fine or even about uncirculated. The note is clean and has no stains. It is intact with no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The only issue we see is some light wrinkling or folds along the right margin, which we believe are an artifact of the manufacturing process as opposed to being because of circulation. A great example of a rare banknote that is difficult to find. Please see scans for additional condition information.
