Description: A nic e about uncirculated Banknote from Ethiopia. This is the June 1st, 1933 Two Thalers currency note issued by the Bank of Ethiopia. The front of the banknote is dark blue and green on multicolor background. The front depicts the image of emperor Haile Selassie and empress Menen Asfaw in the center with inscription in Amharic, French, and English. The back is blue with a guilloche pattern and inscribed in Amharic, French and English. The front shows the serial number and one signature of the governor of the Bank of Ethiopia at the time. This particular note has the serial number F/1 022,012, which is displayed in black twice on the front. The note has no watermark and no security thread. Please carefully review the scans as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1966.

Printer: Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., New Malden, England.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/8" by ~2 1/2".

Pick Number: P6 and is listed in the Banknote Book as B101a.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice about uncirculated with detail or much better with all the details being very well preserved. The detail being an ink stamp on the back of the note and ink stains on the front from another stamped note, which was on top of it when the note was stamped. The note is intact and has no tears or splits. It has no folds or creases and is clean with no observable stains (other than the ink stains mentioned above). The note has no pinholes and no graffiti. The corners are intact and squared with one bump to the bottom right corner (the reason we are not grading a the note as Uncirculated). The note retains its original stiffness, sheen and crispiness. Its edges are intact and do not show roughness. A nice rare note to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
