This banknote is dark green in color over a multi colored background. It depicts the image of a young King George VI to the right of the front. The back has the same color scheme as the front with the framed image of people shepherds shearing sheep and titled Pastoral in a rectangular frame in the center. This particular note has the serial number 299307 displayed twice in black on the front but not on the back. It is series H over 55. The banknote has a water mark depicting captain Cook's head. Date: 1942.

Printer: Unknown.

Size: The banknote measures ~6 1/8" by ~3 1/4".

Pick Number: P 26b.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice about extremely fine with all the details being well preserved. The note has one distinct horizontal fold. It also a crease at the top right corner. The note retains most of its original stiffness and crispiness. The colors are vivid and bright. The corners are intact with minimum rounding, if any. The edges are intact and show minimum wear, if any. The note has no tears or splits The only thing we see is one pinhole in the center of the top margin, where someone must have had the note pinned to a board sometime in the past. This is the main reason we grade it as about extremely fine instead of extremely fine or better. Other than the pinhole the note is problem free and has honest original wear and is in an original circulated condition. The note would make a great addition to your collection of Australian banknotes. Please see photo for additional condition information.
