Belgium 100 Francs

1944 Belgium 100 Francs 20 Belgas Banknote Pick Number 113 Rare and Very Fine

  • $ 139.99

Description:  A beautiful very fine or better large banknote from Belgium. This is the 03.11.44 hundred francs or twenty Belgas. The banknote is pink or orange in color, showing the head of queen Elizabeth to the left and king Albert's head/bust to the right of the front. The front is written in Flemish and shows the image of a woman holding a crown and fruit in the center and a white circle where the water mark can be found on top of her. The back is written in French and depicts allegorical figures laying down in the center again with a white circle on top and surrounded by N in a circle on either side. This particular note has the serial number 12186.0.345, which is displayed four times on the front of the note but not on the back. The front also displays the number 304638345 in lower center, not certain what that number is. The banknote has a water mark depicting the bust of a man possibly King Albert. Please carefully view scan as it is part and parcel of our  description.

Date: 3.11.44 for November 3, 1944.

Printer: National Bank of Belgium.

Size: The banknote measures ~7" by ~4 3/8".

Pick Number: P 113.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a good very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The note has many creases both vertical and horizontal, is lightly soiled but is not stained, but has no pinholes. It does have some minor and very small splits to the edge around the ends of the central crease. These are difficult to ascertain, but appear to be there. The corners are mostly intact with minimal rounding, but are creased.  Please see photo for additional condition information.
