1955-1960 Great Britain Brown Colored Ten Shillings Seated Britannia and Signed O'Brien Prefix B46Z

Description:  A beautiful crisp about uncirculated ten English Shillings banknote. This banknote was issued in 1955 through 1960 and is brown-violet and brown on gray and pink background. It shows an image of a Seated Britannia to the left on the front. Britannia seated with a spear in one hand and a branch in the other. The back has the same color scheme as the front with a large foliate design. The banknote has a watermark showing the head of woman (Minerva) wearing a large hat in the bottom center. The note is signed by L. K. O'Brien the Chief Cashier the Bank of England at the time and has the prefix B46Z. This particular note has the serial number 643107 and has a security thread which is vertical and is located left of center if you look at the front of the note. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a crisp almost or about uncirculated with all the details being well preserved. The note has one central vertical fold and no other folds, creases, tears, pinholes or graffiti. It is clean with no stains and no splits. The corners are squared and sharp with no rounding. Aside from the fold mentioned above the note has no obvious wear commensurate with its about uncirculated status. Please see photo for additional condition information.
