1966 Bermuda 10 Shillings Pick Number 19b Young Queen Elizabeth II Beautiful Choice Very Fine or Better Banknote

  • $ 107.77

Description: A beautiful choice very fine or much better banknote from Bermuda. This is the 1st May 1957, Ten Shillings banknote issued by the Bermuda Government. The banknote has a red design over multi-color underprint. It depicts the image of a young Queen Elizabeth II facing right in the center with the image of Gate's Fort in St. George in a rectangular frame below her on the front. The back has the same color scheme as the front and depicts Bermuda's Arms in the center flanked by the denomination. The banknote displays the date and the denomination on the front but only the denomination on the back. The note has two signatures on the front. This particular note has the serial number 049470 and is series L/1 both displayed twice in black on the front but again not on the back. The note has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: The note is dated 1st May 1957.

Printer: Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. Ltd of New Malden, Surrey, England.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/2" by ~2 3/4".

Pick Number: P 19b and is listed in the Banknote Book as B120b.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a choice very fine or much better (possibly extremely fine) with all the being very well preserved. The note is of thick and heavy stiff paper. The note has a central vertical fold and no detectable horizontal folds. It is lightly soiled but has no stains. It also has a few minor bumps within it and at one of the corners. The corners are intact and fully squared with no appreciable rounding or problems. The edges are intact with one or two minor bumps but no roughness. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. A great example of this scarce note to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
