1987 France 200 Francs Banknote Pick Number 155c Philosopher Charles Baron de Montesquieu Choice About Uncirculated or Much Better

Description: A beautiful choice about uncirculated or much better banknote from France. This is the 1989 two hundred francs or deux cents Francs. The banknote is blue-green, yellow, and multi-colored. It has the image of the famous political philosopher Charles-Louis de Secondat, Baron de La Brède et de Montesquieu to the right of the front with a standing woman with a staff and a shield showing tilted scales to the left. Montesquieu lived during the Age of Enlightenment (1700s) and according to Wikipedia he is famous for his articulation of the theory of separation of powers, which is implemented in many constitutions throughout the world. The back has the same color scheme as the front an again shows Montesquieu to the left of the note with the image of a castle to the right. This is a very nice note that is very colorful with a nice design sure to become a very desirable banknote with time. This particular note has the serial number 1426003437 displayed top center of the front and not on the back. The note is series G.072 and has three signatures on the front. It is dated 1989 on the bottom center of the front. The banknote has a water mark depicting the head of Montesquieu displayed in the white oval left of center in the front. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a choice about uncirculated or much better with all the details being very well preserved. The note has no folds or wrinkling. It retains all of its original stiffness and crispiness and has no roughness along the edges. The corners are intact and fully squared with no rounding. The note has no pinholes, no soiling, no stains, and no graffiti. The only things we see are a light bump to the bottom right corner and light bump to the top edge above Montesquieu 's head. This is the main reason we are grading the note almost or about uncirculated instead of Crisp Uncirculated. It is truly beautiful note in great condition worthy of a spot in your collection of French banknotes. Please see photos for additional condition information.
