1989 Portugal 1000 Escudos An About Uncirculated Banknote Pick Number 181f Teofilo Braga

  • $ 69.99

Description: A beautiful about uncirculated or better banknote from Portugal. This is the 9 November 1989 one thousand Escudos. This wide banknote has a purple and dark brown design over a multi-colored underprint. The front has the image of Teofilo Braga (the Portuguese writer, playwright, politician and the leader of the Republican Provisional Government after the abdication of King Manuel II) slightly to the right of center. The back same color scheme as the front and shows museum artifacts. The note has two signatures on the front as well as the denomination, the date and serial number. This particular note has the serial number CLF04084, which is displayed twice on the front of the note but not on the back. The back also displays the denomination but not the serial number. The banknote was issued by the Bank of Portugal and has a water mark depicting the bust of Teofilo Braga. Please carefully review the scans as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 9 November 1989.

Printer: Bank of Portugal.

Size: The banknote measures ~6 7/16" by ~3".

Pick Number: P 181f.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as about uncirculated or much better with all the details being well preserved. The note has no creases but has some waviness to the paper and possibly a light short fold near the top. The note shows good embossing and the colors are vivid and crisp. The note retains all of its original stiffness and crispiness. It has no graffiti, no observable soiling, no stains, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The corners are nicely squared with no observable rounding and no creases or folds. The edges are intact with no observable wear or roughness. Just a great note in wonderful condition to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
