The banknote is brown gray in color with the image of Eugene Delacroix, the famous French painter, in shades of brown to the left of center on the front. The front also depicts Marianne with her naked breasts holding the French flag and leading the people of France in revolution. This is from one of Delacroix' most famous paintings titled "Liberty Guiding the People." The back of the note is brown in color and shows Delacroix holding a quill in his right hand. This particular note has the serial number 5584581449 and is series K.224. It is dated 1993 and has three signatures on the front, Bruneel, Bonnardin, and Vigier. The banknote has a water mark depicting the head of Eugene Delacroix in the white area to the left on the front. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1993.

Printer: Bank of France.

Size: The banknote measures ~6 1/4" by ~3 3/8".

Pick Number: P 154g.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a good extremely fine or much better. Actually, it is our opinion that the note was never circulated but has acquired a few bumps, folds and creases from bad handling and storage by the previous owner. The note has all of its details very well preserved. The note has no long vertical or horizontal folds or creases. It retains all of its original stiffness and crispiness. It has no graffiti, no pinholes, no stains, no soiling, no splits, and no tears. The note would have been a solid about uncirculated or flat out uncirculated except for the few bumps to the bottom left corner and a crease and minor roughness at the center of the top edge. The note also has a few minor short folds or wrinkles along the bottom edge. We believe all of these issues are from handling as opposed to circulation and hence our extremely fine or about uncirculated grade. The note is clean, fresh with vivid colors. The corners are intact, fully squared with no appreciable rounding or creasing. Please see scans for additional condition information.
