1952 Belgian Congo & Ruanda-Urundi Bank 100 Francs Banknote Elephants PMG VF 25

Description: A nice very fine banknote from the Belgian Congo. This is the 1st July 1952 One Hundred Francs currency note issued by the Bank of the Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi. The banknote is blue and green in color with the front depicting the image of two elephants with riders and palm trees in the center. The front also shows the date, two signatures, serial number, and denomination all in French. The back has the same color scheme as the front and shows the image three oxen and a herder in the center. It also shows the denomination, has two signatures, and the name of the issuing bank in Flemish language. This particular banknote has the serial number A804186, which is displayed three times in black on the front. The note has a watermark depicting a Zebra's head. Printer: Waterlow & Sons Ltd., London. Size: The banknote measures ~6 1/4" by ~3 7/8".

Pick Number: P 25a and is listed in the banknote book as B 305a.

Condition: The note is graded as very fine 25 by PMG and comes in a plastic holder that is so labeled with a notation of "Small Tape Repair" on the back of the holder. The note shows wear, soiling, but no staining. It also shows folds and waviness to the paper. The note is intact and beautiful, with no tears, splits, or pinholes.
