Bank of Belgian Congo 1937 Ten Francs Banknote Pick 9 PMG 20 Very Fine

  • $ 347.77

Description: A very fine banknote from the Belgian Congo. This is the 10 September 1937 ten Francs currency note issued by the Bank of the Belgian Congo. The banknote is graded by PMG as 20 Very Fine and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. It is brown, violet, and yellow in color with the image of the market in Usumbura on the front. The back, which has the same color scheme, shows a herd of antelopes in the savannah with trees in the center. The note is written in French and has two signatures, the date, and the serial number on the front. The back is in Flemish, shows the same signatures, and the denomination but not the serial number. This particular note has the serial number C711336, which is displayed twice in black on the front. Please carefully review scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 10.09.37 (September 10, 1937).

Printer: Banque Nationale de Belgique.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/16" by ~3 1/4".

Pick Number: P 9 and is listed in the Banknote Book as B204a.

Condition: For international buyers, please note that the new US postal rates for first class overseas shipping are, in our opinion, very high. Unfortunately, we are unable to change. Additional charges will be incurred depending on the value of the item. The note is graded by PMG as 20 very fine and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The holder also indicates the note is stained. It is soiled with staining and shows folds and creases. It has rounded corners and some loss in one of the corners. A nice scarce note worthy of a spot in your collection. Please view the scans presented for additional condition information.
