1943 Bank of Belgian Congo Five Francs Banknote Pick 113AA Choice Extremely Fine

Description: A nice choice extremely fine banknote from the Belgian Congo. This is the undated TROISIEME EMISSION-1943" five Francs currency note issued by the Bank of the Belgian Congo. The banknote is blue gray on orange underprint on the front with the image of an allegorical woman sitting on vine-wrapped Roman column with a child looking at a beehive. The front is in French and shows the serial number in black twice. This particular note has the serial number G168156 and has the overprint in black indicating it is "TROISIEME EMISSION-1943." The back blue gray and has the image of an elephant and hippopotamus in the jungle. The back has text in Flemish. The note has no watermark neither does it have a security thread. The note is graded Choice Extremely Fine 45 NET by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The note has the notation Rust, Foreign Substance on the back. Date: The note is undated but has the overprint saying "TROISIENE EMISSION-1943" on the front.

Condition: The note is graded Choice Extremely Fine 45 NET by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The note has the notation Rust, Foreign Substance on the back. The foreign substance appears to be material embedded in the paper along the top edge left of center. Most likely original to the paper making. The note is clean with a few rust spots. It is intact and fresh looking. It has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. A nice example of this scarce note in extremely fine condition to add to your collection.
