Currency 1937 Soviet Russia Three Chervonetz Banknote V. I. Lenin P# 203a VF+++

Description: A beautiful good very fine or much better banknote from Russia. This is the 1937 three Chervonetz. The banknote is red on the front and purple on multicolored background on the back. The front depicts the bust of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, the father of communist Russia, to the right and the Soviet Arms left of center near the upper left corner. The back is purple on multicolored underprint showing the denomination in the center and at the four corners. The note has Cyrillic writing throughout. This particular note has the serial number 035186 and is series MO. It is unsigned and has no water mark that we could see. It has quite a bit of its original stiffness and crispiness left and has one pronounce vertical central fold with some additional very light vertical folds. It is understood that these banknotes were issued to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the October 1917 Revolution, the Communist Revolution! I would grade this banknote as a good very fine or much better (I am tempted to call it extremely fine, but you be the judge) with all the being very well preserved. The note shows signs of light circulation with one pronounce vertical central fold with some additional very light vertical folds. The note is lightly soiled with minor staining but has no objectionable large and pronounced stains. The paper still retains most of its original stiffness and crispiness. Edges are generally intact with no appreciable roughness while the corners are slightly rounded with small creases and bumps. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. Its colors are clear, vivid, and bright. It has an overall desirable and very pleasing appearance. Please see photo for additional condition information.
