Description: A rare nice very good or better banknote from Hong Kong. This is The Government of Hong Kong Not Dated (ND), but known to have been issued in 1935 one dollar currency note. The banknote which was issued by the "The Government of Hong Kong" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd. has a purple design on multicolored underprint with the image of King George V in an oval frame to the right of the front. The back has the same color scheme as the front and displays the denomination in the center as well in all four corners. The front also displays the denomination as well as one signature in black ink. It also displays the serial number. This particular note has the serial number C601407 displayed twice in black on the front. The note is undated, but is known to have been issued in 1935. The banknote has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1935.

Printer: Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd., New Malden Surrey, England

Size: The banknote measures ~5" by ~3 1/4".

Pick Number: P 311.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a very good or better with all the details being fairly well preserved. The note has several vertical folds and horizontal folds. The note still retains some stiffness, but is fairly soiled. It has no tears or splits and is fairly soiled. It is a well used note, abused but still intact. The corners have much wear and rounding. The edges have tiny nicks all along the edges especially where the folds end. The note shows some staining but no appreciable discoloration . There is staining especially on the back. The note has three small holes that can be seen at center and a third into the design from both sides where the vertical folds meet the horizontal fold due to excessive folding. No other pinholes are present, and the note itself has no missing pieces. A nice and rare note to add to your collection. Please see the scan for additional condition information.
