  • $ 67.77

Description: A nice uncirculated Banknote from Durango Mexico. This is the September 1915 fifty centavos banknote issued by the State of Durango (El Estado De Durango). The banknote has a black design with short gray lines in the background all on an off-white background in the front. The front also displays the serial number, series, and three signatures. The banknote also displays the date and the denomination on the front but only the denomination on the back. The back, is light blue in color, and has a central design of an eagle with a serpent in his beak within a circle (Mexican Arms). The front also indicates that the note conforms to the decree of December 12, 1913. This particular note has the serial number 40117 in red numerals on the front in the center and is series F. The paper of the note is stiff and retains all of its original crispiness. The note has no water mark. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: September 1915.

Printer: Although the printer's name is written on the front in the bottom margin, we are not able too completely read it due to the quality of printing.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/2" by ~2 1/2".

Pick Number: S749 and is listed in Frampton Opus as M1510.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice uncirculated or better with all the details being very well preserved. The note has no creases, no folds, no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The edges are intact with no observable roughness. Its corners are squared and have no observable rounding. A nice and scarce piece in absolutely great shape and would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
