Her hair is yellow in color and her hand is in her pocket. The lamb has a white textured surface , black eyes, brown hoofs, and pink nose. Mary on the other hand has blue eyes and red lips. Her legs are painted in pink too. This is the Mary and Little Lamb bank made in the early 1900s. See page 71 (bank 164) of Andy and Susan Moore's book "The Penny Bank Book; Collecting Still Banks" Published by Schiffer Books, of Exton, PA in 1984 for a similar example. The bank has the coin slot on top of the Lamb's head between its ears. We believe this bank is a vintage reproduction of this rare bank, which seldom come by. Please carefully review the Photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very nice bank in excellent condition to add to your collection.

Condition: The bank is in excellent condition with no repairs or breaks. It retains quite a bit of its original paint but shows surface wear and some minor paint losses and paint chips especially Mary's face and hair. There is some rust spots on the back of the lamb and paint losses on the tip of its ear and hoofs. The bank is bit soiled and has some stains as well as surface losses of the paint, but still retains quite a bit of its original paint (estimate >95%25). We believe this bank is a vintage reproduction of the original bank as evidenced by the clean interior, the less than perfect fit of the three pieces, and the coloring of the exterior. Be that as it may, it is in great condition, looks great, and would make a nice addition to your collection at a very reasonable price. Please see photos for additional condition information.
