Vintage Cast Iron Figural Painted Bottle Opener Shaped As Standing Pelican
Description: A painted cast iron bottle opener in the form of a colorful pelican standing. The piece has nice colors ranging from light gray for the body of the pelican; red for its eyes; black highlights, and a green base. The pelican has its beak above its neck with the space between them acting as the opener. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 1900s.
Origin: Probably made in the US. It was purchased in an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: About ~3 1/4" high, and the base is ~1 3/4" by ~1". The piece weighs ~10 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and rather uncommon opener that is truly a nice and colorful piece and would make a great addition to your collection.
Condition: The bottle opener is in excellent condition, with no breaks or repairs. It does have color loss throughout especially at the tip of the mouth commensurate with the piece's age and use. There is loss along the bottom of the head, the beak, around the eyes , and on top of the head. Be that as it may, the piece is still great looking and very nice.
