Egypt Gold 1960 AD 1379 AH One Pound Commemorative Execution of Aswan High Dam Choice BU+
Description: A nice choice brilliant uncirculated 1960 (1379 AH) one Egyptian pound gold coin with full mint luster and beautiful mirror-like fields. This coin was issued to commemorate the execution of the Aswan High Dam. The coin depicts an image of the dam on the obverse with trowl within the sun's discus. The reverse has the denomination and dates in both Ad and AH. It also has the wings of Horus below it and the words "Al-Gomhuryah al-Arabia al-Mutahida" or United Arab Republic. The coin was issued during the period where Egypt and Syria formed a Union. It is KM-401 and weighs 8.5 grams of 0.875 gold. This is the yellow gold variety. It measures approximately 24 mm in diameter. Please carefully review photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a nice choice brilliant un-circulated with full mint luster. The coin is much better than the scan shows. It does have the normal scratches and bag marks that come with such coins. Please see photo for condition information.
