This is the October 20, 1914 issue known as Gobierno Provisional De Mexico twenty pesos Revalidado (revalidated) paper currency. This is the series "D" 20 pesos. The banknote depicts Liberty seated at left in gray-blue and white with shield in one hand and an olive branch in the other. The shield has the date 1914. The center has a black and white eagle with spread wings and having a snake in its beak all over a light gray-blue underprint on the front, this represents the arms of Mexico. The designs are on a yellow-brown-greenish background. The back is orangish-brown in color with a central image of a one-peso coin having Liberty's bonnet in its center. The back also displays the denomination in the four corners. The note has the words "REVALIDADO por decreto de 17 de dicimbre da 1914" stamped on the front in red. this banknote was issued on October 20, 1914, according to the September 19, 1914 decree, and was revalidated on December 17, 1914. The note also has two blue seals on the back, one round and the other being oval in shape. This particular note has the serial number 0492992 on the front twice in red and does not display the serial number on the back. It is a series D issue and has two signatures on the front. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine or much better with all the details being very well preserved. The note shows signs of circulation with a several vertical folds that are soiled on the reverse. The note has no appreciable creasing or wrinkling. The paper is relatively clean with some light soiling and some light staining especially on the back. The note is badly trimmed and is not quite a rectangle in shape with one end being wider than the other. The margins are uneven and you can see some coloring from the note that was next to it in the sheet (the right edge of the front). It does have a couple of light stains on the back. The corners have some rounding and minor bumps. The note retains quite a bit of its original stiffness and its edges are intact with minor roughness. The note has no tears and no splits. The note has no graffiti, no tears, no splits, no pinholes, and no large objectionable stains. Nice note to add to your collection.
