  • $ 397.77

Description: A nicely toned very fine or much better 1794 PTS P.R. Bolivian silver coin. This is the Carolus IIII 8 Reales depicting the bust of King Charles the third of Spain on the obverse. The obverse of this large, silver dollar size coin, has the legend "CAROLUS.IIII.DEI.GRATIA" surrounding the king's bust and the date 1794 below it. The reverse depicts the crowned arms of Spain between pillars with the legend "HESPANIA.ET IND.REX" followed by the mint mark as a monogrammed "PTS.8 R. P.R." all surrounding the arms. These coins were used extensively in the US before the silver dollars were circulated. The coin is nicely toned with all of its details being nicely preserved. It is a truly nice coin with great eye appeal and has nice heft to it. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Weight and Size: The coin is ~0.5 mm in diameter and weighs ~26.7 grams of 89.6% silver.

Condition: I would grade it as very fine or better with all the details being nicely preserved and having general wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. It has scratches, several minor dings to the edge and a few bag marks all of which can be seen in the photos. The coin is nicely toned and has great eye appeal. A nice coin to add to your collection.
