1895 Bronze Medal Badge United Confederate Veteran (UCV) Reunion Houston Texas

Description: A beautiful extremely fine or much better bronze medal depicting issued in the late 1800s (1895-1896) for the United Confederate Veteran (UCV) Reunion in Houston Texas. The medal which is 38 mm in diameter shows the city of Houston in the bottom of the obverse with the third national battle flag aloft in the clouds flying over the city. There is a half-moon with a face and star constellations above the city with big puffy clouds filling the field. The reverse shows the Lone Star within a wreath and the words "HOUSTON TEXAS" surrounding it. The medal has an original hole for hanging. A great medal in extremely fine condition to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: While this piece has not been dated or stamped in any way it is consistent with all other medals of the same design that were issued in 1895 and 1896 for Houston Texas UCV reunions.

Condition: The medal is in extremely fine or better condition with all of its details being well preserve and exhibiting minimum wear. The medal shows wear to the lettering, wear to the higher points of the design, several scratches and a few minor bag marks in the fields all of which can be seen in the photos.
