Description: A great looking and nicely toned extremely fine or much better 1899 bronze coin from the British Colonies in East Africa. This is the 1 Pice coin from East Africa Protectorate. The obverse of the coin shows the bust of a young Queen Victoria of England wearing a crown and facing left. There is the legend "VICTORIA.DEI.GRA.BRITT.REGINA.INDIMP." surrounding the queens bust along the edge. The reverse shows the denomination spelled out while flanking the numeral "1" in the center surrounded by the legend "EAST.AFRICA.PROTECTORATE.1899." surrounding the denomination along the edge. This is KN# 1, weighs ~6.5 gm, and is ~25 mm in diameter The coin is nicely toned in light brown coloring and shows all the very well. It is a truly a nice coin with great eye appeal and looks much better than the photos suggest. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Weight and Size: The coin is ~25 mm in diameter and weighs ~6.5 grams.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a nice extremely fine with all the being well preserved and wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin has even wear on both sides. It is nicely toned and great eye appeal. It has scratches, dings to the surface, a few dings to the edge, and bag marks all of which can be seen in the photos. The coin also has wear to the highest points but still retains its and looks great. The coin looks much better than the photos suggest and has great eye appeal.
