1904B Silver Coin One Dollar Straits Settlement Malaya Edward VII of England XF+

  • $ 137.77

Description: A beautiful extremely fine or much better crown sized 1904 silver coin from the Straits Settlements in the Malaya Peninsula in southeastern Asia. This is a one dollar coin and has a reeded edge. The coin displays the bust of King Edward VII of England facing right on the obverse. The obverse also has the legend "Edward VII King and Emperor" surrounding the king's bust. The reverse displays an interesting design with the denomination, date and indication that it is from the Straights Settlements surrounding the design. The coin retains some of its original mint luster and has great eye appeal. Please carefully review the images provided as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1904.

Mint: Bombay mint.

Size and Weight: The coin weighs ~26.8 gm of 0.90 silver and is ~37 mm in diameter.

I would grade the coin as extremely fine or much better, the coin retains some of its original lust and has great eye appeal. It has scratches and bag marks throughout. It also has minor wear to the high points mostly to the obverse. This is wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The coin is much better than the photos suggest and would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
