1918 Egypt Sultanate 5 Piastre Banknote Signed Wahba P161 PMG 30 Very Fine

Description: A beautiful and fully original very fine small banknote from Egypt. This is the 20th May 1918 Five Piastres. This small size note is purple on green underprint on the front and green on the back. The front is written in English and Arabic showing the date, denomination and the fact that it is issued by the Egyptian Government. The back, which is green in color shows ancient Egyptian ruins along the Nile. The back also shows the denomination in Arabic and English numerals. This note has no serial number but is series H/94. The note is from the times when Egypt was ruled by Sultan Ahmed Fouad during the British occupation. It has one signature that of "Youssef Wahba" minister of finance at the time. The note has no watermark that we could find. The note is Pick Number 161, is graded 30 Very Fine by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The holder indicates that the note has a small split which we see along the central fold at the bottom using a 10X loop. Condition: The bank is all original and is graded 30 Very Fine by PMG. The note comes in a plastic holder that is so labeled. The holder indicates that the note has a small split which we see along the central fold at the bottom using a 10X loop. The note, which is a low denomination note, has been around for over 100 years, and represents the first issue for this denomination is still great looking and is rather rare in such condition. It is soiled, has folds, rounded corners and general roughness to the edges. A great note to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
