1924 Bronzed Brass? Medal Bulldog Club of America Bulldog's Head Obverse W.K.C.
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Weight and Size: The medal weighs ~102 grams, is ~63 millimeters in diameter, and is ~4 millimeters thick at the edge. References: We were unable to find a similar medal in our reference library and we have searched the internet for a similar example to no avail.
Marks: Unmarked as to artist or maker.
Condition: The medal is in extremely fine to about uncirculated condition. The medal has all of its details well preserved with minimum wear to the highest points. It does have some scratches and minor dings to the surface. The medal has a dark patina that is evident on the obverse. The engraving on the reverse is brilliant and shows the color of what we believe is brass and hence our opinion that it could be made of bronzed brass. A very unusual nice-looking medal and possibly rare that would make a nice addition to your collection of dog related awards or medals. Please view photos for additional condition information and to appreciate the beauty and condition of the piece.
