1953 South African Reserve Bank Ten Shillings Banknote Pick Number 90c Nice Extremely Fine or Better Currency Note
Description: A beautiful extremely fine or better Banknote from South Africa. This is the South African Reserve Bank ten Shillings note issued 3.12.53 (December 3, 1953). The banknote is brown and has the name of the bank in English top center of the front. It also has the portrait of Jan van Riebeeck at left of the front. The front also has the denomination in both English and Afrikaans. The back has text in both English and Afrikaans on both sides and has the arms of South Africa in the center of the back. The note has a watermark showing the head of J. van Riebeek. The front has one signature, the date and the serial number as well as the denomination. This particular note has the serial number A/80 272050, which is displayed twice in black on the front. The back only displays the name of the bank and the denomination. I would grade this banknote as nice extremely fine or better. The note has a barely noticeable light vertical folds and no horizontal fold. It is clean with vivid colors. The note retains quite a bit of its original stiffness and sheen. Its corners are squared with minimum rounding but have bumps and light creases near the bottom right corner. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The note shows no signs of roughness along the edges and shows no losses.
