  • $ 117.77

Description: A beautiful very fine banknote from the Commonwealth of Australia. This is the undated 1960-65 ten pounds currency note. The front of the banknote has a black design over red background. It depicts the image of a Governor Arthur Philip (the first governor of New South Wales in Australia) in an oval frame to the left of the front. It also has the Australian arms in the top center of the front. The back is red over white background showing a woman sitting to the right and the symbol of science and industry in the center. The front also has the denomination written in words (Ten Pounds) in the center and as 10 in all four corners. It has the signatures of Roland Wilson to the right and H.C. Coombes with the title Governor, Reserve Bank of Australia both at bottom of the front in black. This particular note has the serial number 135020 displayed twice in black on the front but not on the back. It is series WA over 53. The banknote has a water mark depicting captain Cook's head. This is a rather scarce note and would make a great addition to your collection of Australian banknotes. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine with all the details being well preserved. The note has several vertical and horizontal folds. It also displays general wrinkling as well as some general light soiling and some minor staining. The colors are vivid and bright. The corners are intact with minimum rounding. The edges are intact and show minimum wear. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears and no splits. The note would make a great addition to your collection of Australian banknotes.
