1961 Banknote from Congo National Bank of Congo 500 Francs Pick Number 7a Good Fine or better

Description: A nice fine or much better 500 francs banknote issued by the National Bank of Congo. The note, which is dated 1 December 1961, is lilac in color with pink and green tones. It depicts a mask to the left of the front. The back is more of a brown color with again hints of red and blue and depicts a long building on the bottom. The front has the denomination in the center in both numerals and spelled out. The front also has one signature, the date and the serial number. The note was issued by the Congo Democratic Republic. This particular note has the serial number 485489 shown twice in black and is series A/3. The note has a watermark depicting a bird's head and has a security thread right of center. The note shows circulation with many folds, creases, wrinkling, and general soiling. The note may have been lightly pressed. The note has no major objectionable stains. The paper retains some of its original stiffness. Edges show general roughness, has some nicks at the ends of the folds but has no tears or splits. The colors of the note are clear and but are dull in appearance. The corners are intact but show general rounding and creasing. Note has no graffiti or pinholes.
