1967 Mali 100 Francs Banknote Bank of the Republic of Mali Pick Number 7a Nice Very Fine

  • $ 74.99

Description: A good very fine or better banknote from the republic of Mali. This is the 22 September 1960, 100 francs note issued by the Bank of the Republic of Mali. The note, which was introduced in 1967, depicts the image of Modibo Keïta Mali's first president after its independence from France. The note is dated September 22, 1960 and is brown in color over a green and lilac colored background. The back of the note is brown and has the image of an old man in turban to the right with people at the river with boats and a village in the background. The front of the note has three signatures, the serial number as well as the denomination. The back only shows the denomination. The note is all in French and this particular note has the serial number F1173406, which is printed in black on the front. The banknote has no watermark that we could find but has a yellow solid security thread left of center. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: The note is dated 22 September 1960, but was introduced into circulation in 1967.

Printer: Thomas De La Rue & Company Ltd.

Size: The banknote measures ~5" by ~3 1/4".

Pick Number: P 7a and is listed in the Banknote Book as B107a.

Condition: For international buyers, please note that the new US postal rates for overseas shipping are very high and we are unable to change them. Additional charges will be incurred depending on the value of the item. Please check the cost of shipping before bidding. I would grade this banknote as a good very fine or better with all of its being well preserved and is colors still fresh and bright. The note has several vertical folds with no obvious horizontal folds but has some wrinkling. The note appears to have been flattened. The note still retains some of its stiffness and has light general soiling as well as some minor staining with the exception of the heavy soiling/staining along the central folds on the back. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears and no splits. The edges are intact with minor roughness. The corners are intact but show some rounding with some folds and creases. Colors are clear and relatively bright. This is a great looking scarce note, which would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see the scan for additional condition information.
