Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a beautiful antique redware deep pie plate or bowl with great form and color. It would display very well in your collection of antique redware. It is in good condition given it is over 150 years old, just super.
Condition: The plate is in good condition with no cracks, hairlines, major chips, or repair. It does have general crazing to the glaze. The piece has some minor old nicks along the edge which are difficult to see. The piece also has a few flakes to the glaze on the inside. The back of the plate is black with some general roughness to the surface but no losses or chips. It does have a piece of scotch tape which has been partially removed and we chose not to remove it completely. Finally, as is the case with all these primitive old redware pieces, the bowl has a few of the usual defects you would expect such as pops, slubs, unglazed areas, and uneven spots. Be that as it may, these issues do not to distract from the beauty and quality of the piece. Please view the photos for additional condition information.
