Contemporary Sterling Silver 3D Mountain Lake Front Scene Houses & Moored Boats
Description: A nice unusual decorative piece depicting a 3D nature scene. The scene is of a lake front within the mountains with several houses, moored raw boats, and many trees. The piece is silver in colored with gold colored highlights on the roofs of the houses and the edge of the boat in the front of the scene. This piece is marked in the lower right corner "(R) Arg, 925" which we interpret as being 925 silver or sterling silver. Since the piece is rather large and heavy (measures ~9" by ~6 3/4" by ~1" at its thickest spot and weighs about 2 pounds and 3 ounces) we conclude that it is not completely made of sterling silver but rather has a coating of sterling silver. None the less, the piece has sterling silver as evidenced by the markings. The design on the piece is raised and shows lots of details such as tree leaves, roof tiles on the houses, details in the wood of the boats, and the rippling on the water surface. The piece is thick and was obviously mounted on some sort of backing, possibly cork, as evidenced by the two large spots of residual polymeric glue with one having residual cork like material. Be that as it may, this is a very nice decorative piece that would look great once properly cleaned and framed or mounted. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
