Large Silver Coin 1911 AD 1327 AH Regnal Year 3 Egyptian 10 Qirsh Muhammad V Mint Mark H

  • $ 137.77

Description: A beautiful extremely fine or better 1327 AH year 3 of Muhammad V reign, or 1911 AD, Egyptian ten Qirsh (or pistres) silver coin. The coin depicts the toughra of Muhammad the fifth with the denomination under it and a rose to its right all surrounded by branches and having two crossing quivers under it and seven stars above it. The reverse says "Duribah Fi Misr" or struck in Egypt with the number 3 over the "beh" in duribah (for 3rd regnal year of Muhammad's reign) and the date 1327 AH under it for the year when Muhammad V ascended the throne, all within a wreath and having three stars on top. Just a beautiful design! The coin is beautiful and is attractively toned and having a canvas pattern presumably from the mint bag. It has all the details well preserved and readable and having a beautiful pleasing appearance. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1911.

Mint: Egypt, actually these coins were struck in Birmingham England as evidenced by the mint letter "H" in the bottom of the obverse.

Size and Weight: This is a 10 Qirsh, weighs approximately 14 grams of 0.833 silver and is about 33 mm in diameter.

References: It is KM #309.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a nice extremely fine or better with all the details being there and having nice eye appeal. The coin has what I would characterize as canvas toning presumably for the mint bag. It is beautiful with some nice eye appeal and wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. It does have minor scratches, bag marks, and a few minor and shallow nicks to the edge. The coin has nice eye appeal. Please see photo for additional condition information.
