Old Chip Carved Wood Narrow Cookie Mold Board Three Different Designs

Description: This is an old carved oak wood narrow cookie mold board. The carved oak piece has three individual designs along the length of the board. The top design is of a man dressed in 18th century garb carrying a yoke with two buckets. The middle design shows a man dressed in 8th century clothing riding a horse, while the bottom design shows two people facing each other with a triangular flag in between them. The back of the mold is flat, plain, shows the wood grain, and has no designs. The piece is made of a single slab of oak wood. The board measures ~14 1/4" by ~3 3/8" and is ~5/8" thick. Nicely done piece of most likely German folk art to add to your Collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Unknown but most likely late 1800s to mid 1900s (late 19th century to mis 20th century) Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. The piece was most likely made in Germany or possibly Austria. Size: The board measures ~14 1/4" long, ~3 3/8" wide, and os ~5/8" thick. The piece weighs about 7 ounces.

Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Truly a nice piece, which would make a worthy addition to your collection of carved wood boards or molds. 

Condition: The piece is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It is our opinion that the piece was never used for its intended purpose and was possibly always used as a decorative accent. The piece does have scratches throughout. It also has some minor chips, some dings to the surface, and some minor losses. Other than that, one could say that the piece is in very good condition with wear commensurate with its age and use. Please see photos for additional condition information.
