1799 Copper Coin From Great Britain Farthing King George III Laureate Bust MS63
Description: A nice toned uncirculated mint state 1799 quarter penny or farthing copper coin from the United Kingdom. The coin, which has reeding in the center of the edge (very unusual). It displays the bust of King George III wearing a Laureate in his hair and facing right on the obverse. The reverse displays Britannia seated while holding a branch in her right hand and a trident in her left hand. Britannia is resting on a shield. The coin has the words "GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX" surrounding the king's bust with the date 1799 below it on the obverse. The reverse is marked "BRITANNIA 1. FARTHING" surrounding the seated Britannia. This is KM 646 and measures about 23 mm in diameter. The coin is graded Mint State MS63 BN by PCGS and comes in a plastic holder so labeled.
